Couponing Mom Secrets

I wish I could tell you that I had a whole bunch of great tips on how to manage couponing and the daily CRAZY life of having kids :) By the way.... we now have 3 in our house!

So really, this post is a giant "HELP" and hope that you all will leave some comments on how you manage it all. It seems that I am always running behind on clipping my coupons or just can't seem to get the time to organize myself before I go to the store. I still have hopes of being a COUPONISTA.

So everyone out there... what do you do?

  1. Congrats on #3! Can't wait to meet him/her. Honestly I would love to do coupons but I don't have any time to organize myself before going to the store. I can make a list and thats about it! Heck, I don't have time to organize myself period! Let me know if you figure it out!;)

  2. I don't have time to cut them all out either. I have tried it once or twice, but it just didn't work well for me. Now I keep the inserts all stapled together in a little file box and organize them month. I copy and paste the deals I want from the blogs into a word document, print it off, clip the coupons and put them into piles for each store. It might sound like it still takes some time, and it does take a little, but for me anyway compared to the other way it feels a LOT faster :)

  3. I totally know how you feel Julie! I sometimes go weeks without clipping my coupons, and then it gets really overwhelming to think about tackling the huge pile. What usually works for me is I go through the ads on Sunday and pull out all of the coupon inserts. Then the next step (when I have a few minutes) is I lay out all of the coupons out that I want to clip so the same ones all line up with each other. I alternate the stacks horizontally & vertically so they don't get mixed up with each other. (Does that make sense?) Then that pile goes away for a little while until I have another break. When I actually get to clipping and organizing, it is usually at night while the kids are sleeping so I don't worry about them messing up my neat piles. Of course, I don't have a little baby (yet) so doing it at night is easier right now, but I know it will get more difficult once we have a newborn again.

I sometimes have to go through my piles and only clip a few coupons that I know I will need at my shopping trip and leave the rest for later. It can definitely be overwhelming, but it helps to break it up into different steps. I know I'm not the most organized person out there, so I'm sure there are better & faster ways to do it. But, that's what works for me for now. I'll let you know in October how crazy things really get :)

  4. just found your site!!! the time consuming part is that you are all clipping coupons@!!! SAVE TIME. Just put the inserts by date in a file folder and use a free site to tell you where to go get the coupons you need. No time taken to clip sort organize or find the sales!!!!! check out http://www.centsableshoppin.com/. STOP clipping your coupons and everything will be better!!!! I have 3 kids too and would never be able to keep track of coupons if I was clipping them each week!
    good luck
